Polished Concrete Flooring and Related Services

Your trusted expert since 2000.

We are a family-owned-and-operated business with deep roots in Central Illinois, servicing East-Central Illinois and West-Central Indiana. Our main service area includes Charleston, IL, Champaign/Urbana, IL, Effingham, IL, Mattoon, IL, and Terre Haute, Indiana, but we're open to further travel.

Our primary service is commercial and industrial concrete grinding and polishing, but we do offer other services, especially if we are already providing a primary service.

Concrete grinding smooths and prepares concrete by removing high spots, coatings, and surface defects. Diamond‑segmented grinders move through coarse to fine grits to create a clean, even substrate.

Key benefits include:

  • Surface Prep — Removes old coatings, adhesives, and contaminants so new finishes bond properly. Moisture testing and mitigation may be used when vapor pressure is high.
  • Floor Leveling — Corrects uneven slabs for safer, more uniform flooring.
  • Aggregate Exposure — Reveals fine or full aggregate for decorative finishes.
  • Improved Adhesion — Creates the ideal profile for sealers, coatings, or overlays.

Grinding is the foundation for a defect‑free, high‑quality polished concrete finish.

Concrete Polishing

Concrete polishing uses progressively finer diamond pads to refine the surface into a durable, low‑maintenance sheen. The process typically includes:

  • Refinement — Removes remaining imperfections after grinding.
  • Densifying — Hardens the slab and fills pores for long‑term durability.
  • Polishing — Builds the desired level of shine, from matte to high‑gloss.
  • Sealing — Protects against stains, moisture, and wear.

The result is a smooth, long‑lasting floor with customizable appearance and performance.

Benefits of Polished Concrete

Polished concrete has become a preferred flooring solution for retailers, manufacturers, and warehouse facilities because it delivers long‑term value, durability, and a clean, modern appearance. Key advantages include:

  • Cost Savings - Polishing eliminates the need for traditional floor coverings by using the existing concrete slab as the finished surface.
  • Light Reflectivity - The reflective qualities of polished concrete reduce the demand for interior lighting and help create a bright, professional environment that appeals to owners, architects, and designers.
  • Low Life‑Cycle Cost - Compared to traditional floor coverings or resinous coatings, polished concrete requires significantly less maintenance over its lifespan, resulting in lower annual and long‑term costs.
  • Moisture Tolerance - Because polished concrete allows the slab to “breathe,” it is far less susceptible to moisture‑related failures. Most other floor coverings, adhesives, and coatings have strict moisture limits and can fail when vapor transmission is present.

concrete finishingFinish Options

We offer multiple sheen levels and aggregate exposures to match your design goals:

  • Satin (Matte) — Low‑gloss, non‑reflective; ideal for industrial or office settings.
  • Semi‑Gloss — Balanced shine for retail, schools, and public spaces.
  • High‑Gloss — Maximum reflectivity for showrooms and modern interiors.
  • Aggregate Exposure
    • Cream — Minimal aggregate, smooth surface.
    • Salt‑and‑Pepper — Fine aggregate for a subtle speckled look.
    • Full Exposure — Large stones fully revealed for bold contrast.

These results are achieved through precise sequencing of grinding, densifying, and polishing.

Polishing Systems

Our team offers multiple concrete polishing methods to match the scale and needs of your project, from large industrial floors to detailed interior spaces.

Diteq Polish System

The Diteq System uses a three‑head planetary attachment on a skid steer, allowing up to 10,000 sq. ft. of open floor to be polished per machine per day. It delivers walk‑behind quality at far higher speed, making it ideal for large, unobstructed areas over 10,000 sq. ft. Multiple machines can produce consistent, uniform results across expansive commercial and industrial floors.

Power Trowel Polish

Power Trowel Polishing is a cost‑efficient option for large, flat slabs. It can match the appearance and aggregate class of walk‑behind systems while covering wide areas quickly, making it well‑suited for warehouses, factories, and other high‑square‑footage facilities where speed and durability matter.

Walk‑Behind Polish

Walk‑behind machines—available in wet or dry, electric or propane—are the best choice for offices, retail spaces, and upfit projects. They offer the precision needed for tighter layouts, edges, and detailed work, ensuring a high‑quality finish in smaller or more complex areas.
